Symmetrical Power Supply

Power supply or power supply symmetrical is another term for dual-mode power supply. Called symmetric because the power supply voltage of the same value, the positive polarity (+ V) and negative polarity (-V) to the ground or 0V.

The following symmetrical power supply circuit produces the output voltage + 12V and -12V by using voltage regulator IC 7812 and 7912, which I took from the power supply circuit for active surround amplifier.

Symmetrical Power Supply circuit (Dual Output)

In the power supply circuit is symmetrical above are some of the main parts as follows. Diode D1 and D2 is a rectifier for positive output section. Both are associated with the end of the transformers. Diode D3 and D4 are rectifier to the negative output. Positive and negative output point is taken to CT as a reference or ground.

Working Principle Power Supply Symmetrical
The working principle of symmetrical power supply to the circuit above can be explained as follows. Suppose the half period point on valuable transformers positive and negative valuable the bottom. The current flowing through point B through D4, RL2, RL1, D1 and returned to the terminal A transformer. The upper part of RL1R be positive while the bottom RL2 becomes negative. In the next half point above period transformers negative precious and valuable positive bottom. Current flows through the point A through D3, RL2, RL1, D2 and back to terminal B transformer. The upper part of RL1 will remain positive while the bottom RL2 negative polarity. Flow RL1 and RL2 passing have the same direction produces the output voltage the top and the bottom of the RL1 and RL2. RL1 and RL2 in the power supply circuit is symmetrical above the load to the power supply. For application directly on the load in the form of an electronic circuit, RL1 and RL2 in symmetrical power supply circuit off as function of load power supply symmetrical replaced by the electronic circuit.
